People as connected to nature as the Woodwose were, had, of course, some very specific beliefs and rituals of the hunt. According to their faith, each and every living thing had a spirit, a part of existence that reached beyond the material world. It meant that when the hunter killed the prey the spirit of the animal could latch onto the human’s soul and pull it along into the afterworld. To prevent such a fate the men who dealt the final blows wore roughly crafted wooden masks. They believed that seeing an unanimated, colorless face of the mask would confuse the leaving spirit who would be then forced to depart alone.
So many fantastic tales can be told through a good campaign. Illustrate them all with diverse, detailed, and professionally pre-supported miniatures.
